Hello, July!
Oh my! July is here. Already.
She’s not early. The calendar doesn’t lie. It says she was supposed to arrive today, but it seems too soon. Time keeps moving faster and faster, but I keep slowing down. What gives?
June strolled casually out the back door last night. She’d managed the world for a month and done a reasonably decent job of it. At least the humans didn’t blow up the planet under her watch, so there’s that. She was ready for some vacation time.
July, on the other hand, bounced through the front door with gusto and enthusiasm. July is like that. She knows she often brings people a chance to step outside their ordinary routines. She’s all about camping trips, ice cream, berry pie, kids’ laughter, and exuberance. She’s mostly a kid at heart. She can’t wait for sparklers and brilliant fireworks, for afternoons at the pool and long hours of play.
I know, however, that her days will fly by, too. Is there any way to make them linger?
Perhaps the trick isn’t to make July last longer. Perhaps it’s simply to notice her while she’s still unpacking, and to remind myself again and again to pay attention before she quietly slips out the back door, the way June did.
What do you think?

Love the way you describe July. Just reading about the month brought me a huge smile. But the first time I wrote the date today, I gasped — it’s already July. How did that happen? I don’t think we’re going to find a way to slow down the passing of these months. So I will enjoy the gusto of July!
Flowers are sooo gorgeous. Your garden?
Like a deep whiff of summer - beautiful!
