The last light of March giggled as she tripped down the steps and fell softly onto the green grass carpet, lingering in the slight warmth of the fading spring sunshine. Her tiny slipper brushed against a miniature pink Easter egg, one that had been overlooked by the excited toddlers during the morning egg hunt. The last light of March was grateful for her solitude but held onto the memory of their laughter, tickled by the joy and delight that she had brought to them.
As the light faded into deep blue, March laid on the grass, marveling at what she had accomplished this month. She had brought more light and more warmth into the world. She had carried the earth forward another month, allowing blossoms to appear, basketballs to bounce, and baseballs to open their season. She was glad to have opened the door to spring in a world that was tired of cold, and gray, and wet days.
March was reluctant to leave but she knew that she was turning the world over to more color, more sunshine, and the hope that comes with rebirth. She knew she was a pretty month but she also knew that April was a gorgeous month. Not only was April going to beam with new-spring-color, she was going to bring a feisty and free attitude. March was ready for April. Are you?
Oh that March, just doing such a soft and elegant exit. Of course, if one watches her she simply has a special gift to get under one’s skin no matter in the beginning or near the end of her sit com. I hope she wins an Oscar!
And such a quiet but generous opening she left for April…. take the oars April… your boat has come and is ready to sail.
Thank you Graciewilde for your constant ability to tease out all the fun no matter what the month.
Whimsical and sweet. Very nice. HELLO APRIL!!
