I used to say that August was the Sunday night of the year when I was teaching. Now that I am retired and enjoying the rest, I can say that August is a wind down month. It’s a time when all the excitement of summer – the trips, most of the barbecues, and most planned activities are on hold. It’s time to regroup and turn inward to

prepare for winter. Like the bears we eat the ripe berries and look forward to curling up in our dens for Winter’s rest.
